DEVIZES TOWN 0 CHIPPING SODBURY TOWN 3 Devizes Town manager Darran Walters blamed slack defending for his side’s 3-0 defeat at home to Chipping Sodbury Town. In a close first half, a Jamie Wallen own goal was the difference between the two sides just prior to the break. When the visitors scored three minutes into the second half through David Sims-Burgess, it all but killed the contest before Sodbury wrapped up all three points with a third strike before time. “To be fair there wasn’t a lot between us in the first half and it was quite a good game of football,” said Walters. “We just can’t keep defending like we are at the moment and keep giving goals away. “Ninety per cent of the goals we have conceded this season have come from our own mistakes so we need to sort that out. “Then we have scored an own goal, a bit of a mix up at the back, and it was a poor goal to give away before half time. “Within five minutes of the second half the game was over, which was disappointing. |
