KEYNSHAM TOWN U18 1 CHIPPING SODBURY TOWN U18 2 Ethan Maule opened the scoring for Keynsham in a very blustery game . 1-0 Ht second half goals by Ross Womack and Steve Hobbs 1-2 secured a win for Sodbury. Keynsham came into their first game in league 2 North looking to gain their first points of the season, but this would not be an easy challenge against top of the league, Chipping Sodbury. Despite the challenge it was Keynsham who took the lead. This came in the 37th minute, when Max Sawyer played in Toby Cooke down the wing out pacing the centre half. Cooke took his time to pick out Ethan Maule in the centre who tapped in for his first goal back from injury. The second half started like the first with both teams in an end to end game. Keynsham couldn't hold their lead for long. The equaliser came in the 55th minute when, a Chipping Sodbury corner was cleared from the Keynsham box. The resulting ball was shot back into the mass of body's in the box with centre half Steven Hobbs reacting quickest to flick on the ball into the Keynsham net. It took only 9 more minutes for Chipping Sodbury to take the lead. Keynsham trying to play out from the back got caught under pressure. The Keynsham defence tried to clear the ball, but Chipping Sodbury attacker, Ross Womack blocked the clearance and the ball ricocheted past the Keynsham keeper. 1-2.
