CHIPPING SODBURY TOWN U18 4 THORNBURY TOWN U18 1 Chipping Sodbury now move into the Cup Final where they will meet either Cribbs or Port of Bristol who play their semi final on 27th March at Sodbury. Chippping Sodbury took a 1 goal lead into the interval following a first half between 2 evenly matched teams. Ross Womack was the player to open the scoring for Chipping Sodbury following a counterattack which ended in Ross slotting the ball home low into the bottom corner of the goal. 1-0 HT In the second half Lewis Wynn opened the scoring for Sodbury with a left footed shot at the front post. Jay Tomkins, in the Sodbury goal was called upon to make a save but an alert Daniel Manley cut Thornbury’s deficit when he slotted home the rebound. Thornbury put Sodbury under pressure for long periods of the second half looking for the equaliser , however 5 minutes from time Ross Womack scored the goal of the game with a swerving shot into the corner of the goal . In the dying minutes of the game Matt Day scored Sodbury’s 4th from a throw in that squeezed into the bottom corner of the net.
