CRIBBS FC U18 3 CHIPPING SODBURY TOWN U18 4 A close game, settled by a Cribbs own goal in the last few minutes. Both teams produced good football in a match played in a strong crosswind. Sodbury were first to take the lead, quickly equalised when a Sodbury defender inadvertently converted a free kick from distance past his own keeper. At half-time honours were even at 2-2. Cribbs again went into the lead at 3-2, and were still leading with 15 minutes to go, only for a defensive lapse of concentration and the unfortunate own goal resulting in Sodbury taking the points. Both goals came after a considerable period of Sodbury pressure, but at 3-3 Cribbs missed a gilt-edged chance to take the lead again. In addition to the two own goals, Sodbury’s scorers were Cato Dacres, Charlie Davis, and Adam Blue; with Omar Rauf and Ben Jarvis replying for Cribbs. Jarvis’s goal probably being the highlight – angled into the top corner from 30 yards out. Report - Ross Burnham |
