When you put everything in perspective, the football we play every Saturday is, at the end of the day, just a game.
Win, lose or draw i think we all sometimes take it a little too seriously.
This only comes to light when you see a totally committed player, Kevin May, get seriously injured.
On Saturday, at home to Bedminster, Kev broke his shin making a last ditch tackle with only about five minutes left to play. He came out of hospital on Tuesday with plaster right up to his arse ! Hopefully you will all find time to see how he is and support any future fundraising we may hold for him.
As for the rest of the team, well, they all think the last two game shave been pretty poor. I believe that four points from six isn't bad. All these sides are fighting hard and we have to be just as strong as them to get anything out of it.
Away to Nicholas Wanderers we won 2 - 1. Two penalties from our Captain Lee Payne, as well as a good all round performance from him, saw us through. Ryan Clancey played a few different roles but was excellent at left back. Roger Smith produced his best display to date in goal and Paul Savage and Steve Martin kept their good form going down the right hand side, three points very well earned.
Martin Panetta had an excellent preparation for this game by staying overnight in Staple Hill at a Free B&B with very high security. "Well Done Rocky" !!
At home to Bedminster we drew 1 - 1. Tom Clarke scoring just after half-time from a mistake by their goalkeeper. Paul Cheverton made his Reserve team debut and should have secured the win for us. After a great run he failed to hit an empty net from six yards but in fairness he had a very good game for us.
Pete John got "Man of the Match" with another rugged performance.
Well done to everyone, keeep plugging away.
