Liam Pullen Chosen to carry out the 'One For all' Football at wembley for the fa cup final
As most are aware, this was our first ever season in the Emirates FA Cup and we won our first game 3-1 v Brackley Town Saints with Liam Pullen scoring our first ever goal.
We are delighted to confirm Liam Pullen will be walking out the official Emirates FA Cup match ball at Wembley Stadium for the final between Manchester United and Chelsea football club.
We would like to thank the Emirates FA Cup and the Football Association for giving the grass roots teams the opportunity to represent their respective teams at the final and this is a big honour for the club and Liam.
This is a fantastic story as Liam took a season out of the game the year before believing he was to small and needed to be stronger, so spent time in the gym to achieve his goal of playing as high as he could in the football pyramid and scored in the FA Cup.
The FA has placed the names of 137 goalscorers from this season’s Emirates FA Cup on the Nike Ordem V, the ball to be used in the 137th Final.
The ‘Ball For All’ celebrates players from Step 6 of the National League System through to the Premier League, who all share the accolade of being a goalscorer in this season’s competition.
The names included represent goalscorers from every round, beginning in the extra preliminary round through to the semi-finals and also include a selection of the season’s most memorable and impactful strikes.
Among the names on the ‘Ball For All’ are:
“It’s an honour for my name to feature on the ‘Ball For All’ and to be asked to carry it out at Wembley Stadium ahead of the Final is going to be extra special.
“I’m really looking forward to the experience and will be very proud to be representing all of the players who have scored in this season’s competition.”
Andy Ambler, The FA’s director of professional game relations, added: “One of the most special things about the Emirates FA Cup is that a goalscorer in the extra preliminary round shares the same accolade as some of football’s most famous names.
“Over 3,000 goals have been scored in this season’s competition, from all levels of the football pyramid, and the 137 goalscorers from across the country are representative of all who have contributed to this season’s competition.”
At the close of the season, The FA will have distributed a total of £14.6m in competition prize money to the 737 competing teams.
