1st Team Manager Jeff Clark talks about his aspirations on the season ahead as he embarks on his 4th Season in charge.

Pre-season for us has been a very busy time which has pleased the wife no end, although she is getting used to it !
Like every year, August is a very busy month getting squads together and arranging Pre-season friendlies and training.
We have been busy strengthening the squad with several new signings that will hopefully enhance and help us move forward. We have also strengthened the non playing staff with Lee Rendell coming in as team coach plus Chris Preston and Pete Oads providing help and support where needed, this should put us in good stead for the season.
As a club we have tried to provide a suitable alternative for local talent to shine rather than either joining Yate Town or going outside the district to join clubs.
Over the last few years, i believe we have had a lot of success in attracting new players to the club, so hopefully we can continue to build the club and take it forward. 
In having five Reserve Teams in our league, whose First Team are in County or above, it's very difficult to compete with them unless we attract players from that standard who can help us achieve success.
Hopefully this season we can progress, as last season was a steep learning curve for both myself and the players. It was a tough season where we learnt a lot. But i have certain reservations on our league in the way it organises itself with the inclusion of so many Reserve Teams which could potentially hold back the likes of ourselves.
