THE FA Vase takes centre stage for sodbury this Saturday (September 10) as they prepare to try and overcome a tricky first qualifying round.
Freescoring Fairford Town, who have enjoyed a sparkling opening to their Hellenic Division One West campaign after losing their only league game to date on the opening day at Abingdon United 2-1, are braced for a mouthwatering all-Gloucestershire affair with Chipping Sodbury Town, who have made an impressive start of their own to life in the Toolstation Premier Division for the first time.
Sodbury are sadly without their summer signing from local rivals Yate Town, George Box, who sustained cruciate knee ligament damage in a 3-2 victory over Sherborne recently.
Boss Karl Reese has moved quickly to find attacking cover with the capture of former Winterbourne United forward Ben Dowdell, while James Mackie is close to a return after injury.
